we planned to leave for shalimar at 0500 this morning, we were only 30 min later. i was pleased. i'm not sure if bug fell back to sleep after i tried to sneak her into the car, but when the sun finally came up enough that i could see her face in the back seat, she was wide-eyed. very quiet, but definitely awake. we missed the turn to take the back way to 49 S, so we ended up tacking on about 45 min to the first leg of the trip. oh well.
we had to stop about a hour earlier than planned for breakfast b/c bug was signing 'food' with more and more intensity as the minutes passed. a quick stop at mcdonalds and we were back on the road. we found a park in baton rouge where we stretched our legs for an hour-ish. chased caitlin around a playground a bit, got her good and tired. she slept the next 3 hours to mobile, al.
we asked a gas station attendant if he had any suggestions for good food in the mobile area, he did: mcdonalds, church's chicken, and wendys. really? we happened to pass a quiznos with a grassy area and tables out front. bingo. we spent another long lunch eating and chasing, chasing then eating, tuckered everyone out rather well.
another 2 more hours and we arrived at 'destination bulger' around 1630 in the afternoon. had a lazy few hours waiting for evan to get home from work (he was supplying the cheese for dinner), and we topped the evening off with watching an episode of bones. now, don't judge me too horribly, but i again, don't have a picture for today...BUT i have a link to a video that was taken this day and it's really really really cute. now, i'm not sure if everyone will be able to see it, if you aren't friends with the person that posted it, you might not be able to see it...if that is the case, let me know and i'll see what i can do to fix it! :)
