funny story.
i had 7 lady friends over for dinner tonight. we ate, laughed, and ate some more. caitlin and abigail played loudly with anything that wasn't a baby toy. this is not uncommon, but tonight for some reason they didn't want ANYTHING to do with any of the toys in the room other than everyone's car keys...
kate was nice enough to let the girls play with her keys, it all seemed innocent enough. until we put the kids to bed and kate stood up to get herself ready to leave. she did the usual 'pat your pockets in search for your keys' move, checked the couch cushions she was sitting on, looked around the room at all the surfaces quickly with a slight frown on her face, and then made the announcement that she couldn't find her keys.
the search was on. (remember there are 7 of us searching).
15 min later
we had moved every single section on the couch away from the wall and almost on their sides.
every one of caitlin's toys had been inspected, tubs and baskets were dumped and replaced one by one.
everyone's purse was searched by dumping it on the table.
it was starting to get REALLY ridiculous when someone leaned over and flipped a 'page' of a book that is attached to one of cate's toys. i guess she did this b/c she thought it was the lid and there would be a compartment under it...nope. but little did she know, there WAS a compartment on the same toy. sure enough, i flipped the little lid up and there were the keys, a perfect snug fit. sneaky sneaky children...they never fail to amaze me :)
