Day 73 Dec.29 2010

day 2 of driving.  all are doing well.  bug has been really good.  we pulled into a hotel around 0130 this morning to get some good sleep.  breakfast was quite good.  bug enjoyed herself.  toast and a banana, makes a fantastic mess :)

the afternoon seemed to go by kind of quickly.  matthew's new garmin took us down the back highways through mississippi and louisiana...kind of weird, but the last half through louisiana got really pretty.  rolling farm land, really dark brown dirt, some winter crop that just started growing so it was bright green...all very visually pretty.  but of course i didn't have the camera available...

shortly after we cross into texas on us-10, there is a crazy cool view of the oil refineries (i think that's what they are) from the top of the bridge and at night they are all lit up with the same yellow light and it looks like a futuristic city.  it would have been an ideal picture of the day...buuuut, i had the camera packed..

the picture i do have here i took the day before we left in preparation for the new year.  so i'm only partially cheating by posting it today...:)
