slept in today. it was weird. i heard cate wake up around 0715, but i was too cozy to get out of bed, and i drifted off to sleep until 0830 when i rolled over and thought-"what's wrong, why hasn't caitlin cried yet?!" when i poked my head into her room, she was playing in her crib with the giraffe and green dr. seuss thing. i was rather pleased.
monica needed help adjusting back into her house. they never really fully unpacked and now that she is back home and 6 months in a house that still wasn't put together, she needed something to change. so we rearranged the living room. i'm not 23 weeks pregnant, so i did the heavy lifting, she was on child distraction duty. after 2-3 hours of furniture moving, vacuuming, organizing, dish washing, counter wiping, monica's house looked spectacular! i was so proud of us!!
i realized how much i enjoyed the whole process after standing back and admiring our work. after being teased about not having a job earlier this morning, i thought, what if people paid me to do this...i don't mind moping floors on my hands and knees. it's the only way to really mop a floor, it actually stresses your back less than if you're half bent over trying to push down on a mop handle...
i've never really cleaned anyone else's home before, so i never realized that it's just the act of cleaning that i find so satisfying, not the fact that it's my house that i'm cleaning...
but who knows what will come of this, if you ask my husband he'll say it's just another one of my hair brained ideas on how to make money outside of working for someone else and it won't really pan out. he's probably right...the scary part is, i'd probably clean peoples houses just to be nice...i like it that much and the money isn't necessary...sick huh?
i wish there was a before picture. but ultimately the love seat that is under the window was were the couch is, and the couch was perpendicular to the wall, dividing the room into two. the tv was in angled in the corner and there was paper everywhere! it's a happy space now.
this is what we treated ourselves to after the work was done...i'd really be okay if this is how i got paid...:)
