Day 78 Jan.3 2011

today's plan was to pick up my neighbor and her little girl from the airport in alexandria at 1630 today.  for those that don't know, this is the closest "town" to me, with a mall, a target, a hobby lobby, and restaurants.  i decided to head out a little early so i could stop by hobby lobby (i had a gift card burning a hole in my wallet), michaels (i had two coupons), and tuesday morning (i was considering buying another set of sheets for the bed).  i gave myself 2.5 hours seeing as two of the locations i had specific items in mind and wouldn't take long.  but i wanted to stop at hobby lobby first b/c i was just too excited.

i didn't have time to stop at the other two stores...i walked out of h.l. and was worried i was going to be late picking up the girls...

i have never truly understood "retail therapy" until today.  i wasn't looking for anything really specific, but to just walk through the clearance isles at my own pace and browse, imagine where i would put all of these things...considering the crafting possibilities of all of the blank wooden objects...it was so calming.  i left feeling refreshed, invigorated, and excited!

the ride there probably helped put me in a good mood to begin with.  they are turning the two-lane highway into a divided one, so the seed they laid a few months ago has sprouted and was bright green already some how.  the sky was a brilliant blue, the temperature was a balmy 65 degrees, and i had some good tunes playing :)
