fall has never been my favorite season. it is one of the more pretty seasons, i'll admit that. but it always seems so rushed. the summer feels so lazy and relaxing like time stands still. then fall peeks its head around the corner and we start thinking about hay and red leaves and breezy, cool, evenings, and then BAM!, winter. maybe that's just 24 years of michigan talking...
i can't quite get into fall here. even though november is right around the corner, its still 85 degrees...you're supposed to wear turtlenecks and cute fall sweaters when you pick out a pumpkin. again, that might be my northern fall expectations talking again...this afternoon cate and i spent an hour or so romping around a pumpkin patch with some neighborhood friends and some family. the day before we were at the same patch to have some professional pictures taken of cate. i'm glad a family owned pumpkin patch exists close by, otherwise i would have missed fall without even noticing...
an hour or two of sitting on hay and watching little kids try to carry around pumpkins bigger than their head made me stop and enjoy what brief bit of fall we do get down here :)
